Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgeon

Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgeon
Duties and Responsibilities:
Otolaryngologists study the ear, nose and throat conditions of a person, or ENT. It is also referred to as Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgery or otorhinolaryngology. It is the oldest medical specialty in the United States. They often treat children with persistent ear, nose, and throat conditions. Adults get treatments from Otolaryngologist for sinus infections, hearing loss, and cancers of these regions.
Salary: $327,517
Education:
Otolaryngologists must complete at least a five years of surgical residency training. One year of in general surgical training and the other four years in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. Some complete an advanced sub-specialty fellowship where training can be from 1-2 years in duration. This job is one of the most competitive specialties in medicine to get a residency position followed by medical school.
Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?

I think I would like to be one because I want to make patients hear better and let them smell better. I would also like to be one because I would be able to help children.
