to intravenous solutions. All of the work is double checked by the pharmacist
before the medication is given to the patients/ customers. More duties include:
·
Checking
the inventory and supplies.
·
Receiving
and checking supplies.
·
Waiting
on the customers. Keeping areas clean. Helping to fill the insurance forms.
They work in
retail pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, and some large industrial complexes.
Salary:
$15,000- $25,000
Education:
Students who
would like to become a pharmacy technician should take math, science
(especially chemistry), and typing courses during high school. A high school
diploma is required to begin the technician training. Two year courses leading
to certificates are available at some community colleges. Six month programs are
offered at private operated schools.
Reflection:
Do you think
you would like to be one?
Why? Why not?
I think I would
like to be one but a pharmacist not the technician because I don’t want to get
paid a low wage job. I would like to own my on private practice, where I could
double check the container of the medication.
