Duties and
Responsibilities:
The radiation therapy
technologists assist the radiologists and the oncologists (cancer specialists)
in treating the diseases by exposing areas of the patients’ body. They are also
responsible with helping with the treatments, maintaining the radiation
equipment, and helping with the patient records. They work in hospitals, public
health clinics, cancer treatment centers, and private offices.
Salary: $22,000-$36,000
Education:
Students should take calluses in science, math, and English that
are available in high school. Students can come train in a one-year or a two-year
program. The one-year programs are offered at hospitals. To be in a one year program
the applicant must have graduated from an approved program in radiologic
technology or been a nurse with the education of radiation physics. For a two-year
program you must have a GED or a high school diploma to be entered
