Industrial Hygienist
Duties and Responsibilities:
Industrial hygienist checks out health hazards, conduct health risk assessments, manage industrial or business health problems, and they provide consultation. Industrial hygienist can be teachers, administrators, researchers, or consultants. Some work in government teams others work in private practices. Industrial hygienist often:
·         Collect samples and preform laboratory analyses.
·         Check out worker exposure to radiation, vibrations, and noise.
·         Calibrate equipment.
·         Investigate possible health hazards.
·         Conduct epidemiological research.
·         Instruct employees on injury prevention techniques.
Salary:
$40,000-$60,000
Education:
Students need to take challenging college preparatory courses, even in mathematics and science, during high school. To be an industrial hygienist it requires at least a Bachelor’s Degree in occupational health and safety, environmental health engineering, or physical science. Some jobs require for them to get a Master’s degree in the related fields.
Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?

I would not like to be an industrial hygienist because I don’t think I would do a good job at it.
