Duties
and Responsibilities:
Medical assistants
help physicians and nurses deliver patient care. Medical assistants make the appointments,
take blood pressures, respirations, take patients temperatures, and preform
pre-examining procedures. Medical assistants work in hospitals, clinics, or in
private physician offices.
Salary:
$17,000-$18,000
Education:
Students should
take biology, physical science, office management, communications, and human relations
in high school. Medical assistant programs do accept GED certificates. The programs
are provided by community colleges and for profit technical training schools. The
training programs make take six months and two years to be complete.
Reflection: Do you think you would like
to be one? Why? Why not?
Looking at what
the medical assistant does I think I would like to be one because I get to work
in a hospital and help out the nurses and physicians with patient care.
