Medical Illustrator

Medical Illustrator
Duties and responsibilities:
Medical illustrators are highly skilled artists. They work in the medical field and create graphics for textbooks, journals, magazines, and educational films. The drawings span a wide range from microorganisms to the body parts. Some illustrators prepare illustrations that aid in the research of artificial body parts. They are called when they need them to create body parts like ears and noses for the patients that are deformed or have undergone in some of the surgeries.
Salary: $35,000-$50,000
Education:
Students interested in becoming illustrators should take a college preparatory program in high school that goes in to the category of art and science. When they are in college they should either major in art and minor in science or the other way around. The most of the medical illustrators have master's degrees in a program that is accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs. To receive a certificate as a medical illustrator it requires a graduate degree in medical illustration, a portfolio review, and completion of a national examination.
Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?

I would like to be one because I get to be design body parts for the patients who need it mostly. Even, because you get decided what goes in a students learning.
