Duties and Responsibilities:
Opticians fit eyeglasses for the patients based on the prescriptions written by the optometrists. They help the patient’s select eyeglass frames, and measure their faces so its correct frame could be ordered. They also measure the corneas so that the correct lenses could fit the frame. Some specialize in contacts others in artificial eyes. They could own their own store or work for an optical store.
Salary: $19,000-$40,000
Education:
Students who want to become an optician should take physics, algebra, mechanical drawing, and geometry in high school. To begin training students should have a GED certificate or a high school diploma. Student could either complete a two-year course at a school of optician, or a three year on-the-job apprenticeship.
Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?

I would like to be an optician because I would like what I do. Also because I would not have to go to school for a long time.
