Optometrist

Optometrist
Duties and Responsibilities:
The optometrists treat the vision problems in your eyes. They treat it by diagnosing the problem and then prescribing the correct eyeglasses, contacts, or vision therapy. Some specialize in industrial vision care. They aren’t physicians and can’t write prescriptions, treat diseases, or do surgery. Some are self-employed, though some work in hospitals, government agencies, optical manufactures, or universities.
Salary: $78,000
Education:
Students should take either AP classes or IB classes in high school that are available in math, science, and English.  Before going an optometrist school two years of college in pre-professional program is required. The school is four years in length. When given the degree of Doctor of Optometry, they must pass a state exam before starting to practice.
Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?

I would like to be one because I would enjoy not having to perform surgery. As well as treating eye vision problems.
