“I will persist until I succeed.”
Og Mandino

This quote means that he will never stop trying until he succeeds. Og wanted to commit suicide but didn’t because he saw a job opening. He couldn’t get a job and he decided to just try it. With this job he finally succeeded. He is the author of the book “The Greatest Salesman in the World”. Og didn’t stop trying until he knew that he was able to succeed. An example of persisting is when you’re training for the Olympics. When you train you keep on going and going until you know you can succeed it. An example of a person that didn’t stop training for the Olympics and got medals was Matt Biondi. If you practice something over and over again chances are you’re going to do something great and achieve a goal.

“The answers to these questions will determine you success or failure:
1.    Can people trust me to do what’s right?
2.    Am I committed to doing my very best?
3.    Do I treat people the way I want to be treated?
If the answers to these questions are YES, then there is no way you can fail.”
Lou Holtz

I think that people can trust me to do what’s right because that’s what everyone wants people to do. For example my teachers expect me to do right things they can trust me to do only the right things and be honest. I am committed to doing my best because I don’t want people to know me as a lazy person who doesn’t care about things when in reality I do. I do my best in everything I can so I can achieve my goals. Everyone wants to be treated the same so I show everyone respect even if I don’t like them because I want the same treatment.

John F. Kennedy

John F. Kennedy
I think that what Kennedy is trying to tell us is that if we follow the correct rules and use our minds good towards it we can be great and strong. If we exercise our bodies and stay healthy we can contain a healthy mid. If we don’t drink or use drugs or do any bad things we can keep our mind and body healthy and string. If we work hard and smart we wouldn’t be so bad but instead at the top. Bad things are going to come through our ways and if we have a healthy mind then we would know how to take care of the situation. I plan to be more physically fit by doing the right things and not doing drugs that can mess me up. If I choose the right thing then my mind will know what to do at bad situations.

“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body; it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know what the Greeks knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong.”
President John F. Kennedy
What Kennedy is trying to say is that if you want to get a healthy body fitness isn't always the way it is the creative intellectual activity. The mid and body may be hard to understand but intelligence is like a peak to a healthy body. When the body is healthy and strong only then can we function correctly. Just walking up and down doesn’t make you a fit person instead it’s how you make you mind healthy.

“No student ever attains eminent success by simply doing what is required of him/her; it is the amount and excellence of what is over and above the required that determines the greatness of ultimate distinction.”
Charles Kendall Adams, American Historian

This statement means that not every student attains the importance of what is required of them but instead the amount of excellence that determines the greatness of them. Students don’t get recognized by the work they do that is required but by the amount of excellence that is required of them.
