“Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”
Benjamin Franklin
This statement means that if you do things early it makes a great man out of you. Going to bed early and rising early makes you a better person because you’re newer and fresher than the day before. What Benjamin is telling us is that the earlier you are to things the better prepared for them you will be.

“Kindness is the essence of greatness.”
Joseph B. Wirthlin

This statement means that within greatness you get kindness. You cannot be great if you aren’t kind to others. The soul of greatness is to be kind to others because that’s what makes you so great. For example, if someone says you are a GREAT person, they mean that you fair, honest, KIND, and not disrespectful to others. Kindness makes up greatness and without it nothing is great.

“The best way to predict you future is to create it.”
Charles Ketterer

This statement means that life will not create a goal for you must create it yourself. When it’s been created you must follow that path to succeed it. If you want to do many things in life then you have to predict you've done it so it can come true as a goal for you. Your future was not written out for you if you want it to be great then you must first make goals for you to succeed them.

“The best inspiration is not to outdo others, but to outdo ourselves.”
Anonymous

What the author is trying to tell us is that when you outdo yourself you become your inspiration. If you inspire yourself to do more than what you should then that means that you can go for higher things in life. If we outdo ourselves we can achieve greater things, like for example if you go to a competition you must not try to be better than the others you must first be better than yourself to inspire others and yourself. If you try harder and harder every day you will soon realize that you can outdo yourself because all this time you’ve tried harder to achieve something.

“It is a rough road that leads to the heights of greatness.”
Seneca

The statement means that in order to be the greatest and to be at the top you need to work hard. The road to this success may be tough but it’s the destination that counts not the journey. An example of this is when you’re studying to be a principle, but you must first become a teacher in order to go higher in your journey. The statement is explaining that you can either go an easy nice road that involves not so many good things or the rough one that leads to a great destination that you would be happy with.
