Nursing Home Administrator

Duties and Responsibilities:
The nursing home administrators plan and direct operations of nursing homes and long term care facilities. They supervise personnel, financial, medical, and nursing administration. Some of the nurses work in the nursing homes though some work for large corporations that control many facilities. Some get involved for teaching and for the research.
Salary: $40,000- $55,000
Education:
If students want to become a nursing home administrator then they should take challenging high school courses in business, science, math, and English.
Most states require that the administrators have at least a bachelor’s degree in nursing home administration.  They must also complete an additional internship program and pass a comprehensive examination.
Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?

I would like to be one because I might enjoy doing this. I would like to go to people’s homes and help them in stuff that they can’t do on their own.

Health Information Specialist

Health Information Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities: Health information specialists post and analyze medical, workload, fiancé, and insurance data. They make sure that this information is properly recorded in the medical records. They do this so the practitioners can plan and evaluate health care to the patients.
There are varieties of jobs in this medical field. Some of which include a Registered Record Administrator, Accredited Record Technicians, and Certified Coding Specialists. The Administrators coordinate the information management responsibilities and supervise the record technicians and the coding specialists. The record technicians make sure that the medical records are up to date, coordinate the reimbursement, and maintain disease registries for research. The coding specialists assign and post the correct diagnosis and procedure codes to the records and report codes to the insurance companies.
The health information specialists work in hospitals, clinics, insurance companies, physician offices, and other medical settings.
Salary: $20,000 - $25,000 (Coding Specialists)
$23,000 - $30,000 (Record Technicians)
$30,000 - $40,000 (Record Administrators)
Education: If students would like to become a health information specialist then they should take business, information management, science, math, and English in high school.
A coding specialist needs to have a GED or a high school diploma. An accredited record technician must earn an Associate’s degree from an accredited college program. A record administrator must complete a bachelor’s degree program in the field and pass a certification examination.

I would not like to become one because I would enjoy having this job.

Healthcare Administrator

Duties and Responsibilities:
Healthcare administrators manage hospitals and other healthcare facilities.  They are responsible for long-range planning, financial administration, personnel administration, materials management, purchasing, public affairs and patient administration.  The smaller hospitals may have only one administrator because they are smaller and doesn’t need that much, while larger hospitals may have many healthcare administrators. Some administrators specialize in specific fields like patient administration. Health care administrators also work in HMOs, health agencies, clinics, or for private practices.
Average Salary:   $35,000 - $100,000
Educational Requirements:
Students need to take challenging high school courses in business, science, math, and English.  Healthcare administrators have master's degrees in healthcare administration or in business administration.

Im not sure if I would like to be a health care administrator because they have to do business and I am not a business person.
