Psychiatric Aide- Technician
Duties and Responsibilities:
The aides and technicians help care for the mentally ill, disabled, or they can infirm people who are confined in a hospital, mental facility, and care facilities. They work under the supervision of the health professionals or the nurses. They work in hospitals, social service centers, crisis canters, schools, and substance abuse facilities. The technicians usually have more formal training and responsibilities than the aides do. They both often
·         Help the patients eat, dress, and bathe.
·         Escort the patients to and from the clinics.
·         Aid or they can restrain patients.
·         Help in housekeeping.
·         Interview the patients and the family.
·         Watch patients and report what they do to the professionals.
·         Teach daily living skills.
·         Dispense medication, and engage in the educational activities.
Salary: $12,000-$24,000
Education:
The aides do not always need a highs school diploma for training, but however most employers prefer that the aides do have a diploma.
The technicians should have a high school diploma and need to have taken courses in English and science. A training experience or a job experience as an aide is often required as well.
Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?

I think I would not like to be and aide or a technician because I would not enjoy having to work with patients if I have to bather them.
