Psychologist

Psychologist
Duties and Responsibilities:
The psychologists study the behavior and the actions of people to understand and change their behavior patterns. They provide counseling to those with emotional, learning, and behavioral problems. They work in schools, clinics, hospitals, and a private practice. They specialize in education, clinical, etc. psychology. Their duties include:
  • Diagnosing problems
  • Interviewing the patients
  • Develop and select the administering tests
  • Counsel patients and their families
  • Conduct research.
Salary: $45,000-$65,000
Education:
Students should prepare for the career in psychology by taking the most challenging (AP or IB) high school courses in AP or IB classes in English and science. Licensed psychologists must earn a Ph.D. in psychology. Clinical psychologists need to complete a two-year internship after earning their doctorate degree and pass oral/written state qualifying exams. School psychologists must earn at least a master's degree.
Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?
I think I would like to be a psychologist because I would like to help people in their behavior problems. Though I would most likely like to be a child psychologist.
